TA Program Structure, Policies, and Procedures
- Application timeline: Applications open in May 2022 and close on 10/29/22. Please see website for more information.
- Who is eligible to apply: Local government, regional transportation authorities, transit agencies, natural resource or public land agencies, school districts or local education agencies, tribal governments, applicants within Large Urbanized Areas (MPOs/RPCs)
- Application information: Applications are open biennially
- Application components: Project sponsor, ability to provide match/funding plan, TA eligibility, project description, cost estimates, project status (permits, environmental clearance, etc.), right of way, equity considerations, inclusion in planning documents
- Selection criteria: Applicants are rated and ranked according to the following factors: planning, economic vitality, safety and security, accessibility and mobility through integration and connectivity, protection and enhancement of the environment, efficient system management and operations, system preservation, equity
- Application tips: During the call for projects, interested applicants must meet with the regional planning organization and NMDOT staff to evaluate project feasibility

- Advisory committee members: A representation of NMDOT staff and MPO/RTPO planners from across the state.
