TA Program Structure, Policies, and Procedures

- TA program structure: The TA Program offers a source of funds for addressing the needs of non-motorized transportation users. A primary focus of the State’s program is safety, accessibility and connectivity.
- Application tips:
- Who is eligible to apply: Local governments, regional transportation authorities, transit agencies, natural resource or public land agencies, school districts, tribal governments, and any other local or regional government entity with responsibility for oversight of transportation or recreational trails.
- Application components: Project sponsor, TA eligibility, project location, project description, demonstration of public need and support, community significance, project status (permits, environmental clearance, etc), cost estimate, ability to provide match,
- Selection criteria: budget, public benefit, safety, connectivity, readiness to proceed
- Is there an advisory committee?: Yes
- Advisory committee members: Comprised of staff from the DOT’s engineering, finance and planning units
- Project award minimum: $500,000
- Project award maximum:
- Match requirement: 20%, no in-kind match permitted
