Trails To Explore Near Chicago

Chicago Lakefront Trail | Streeterville 

This trail spans 19 miles along the shore of Lake Michigan, passing through downtown Chicago and cultural and tourist attractions throughout the city like Burnham Park, Navy Pier and Lincoln Park.  

Bloomingdale Trail (The 606) | Wicker Park 

This iconic trail is built from a former elevated rail line, sitting 17 feet above four Chicago neighborhoods and serving an estimated 80,000 people who live within a 10-minute walk of the trail.  

Northerly Island Trail | Northerly Island 

This trail offers access to the vast, natural oasis that is Northerly Island. The mile-long paved pathway winds along Burnham Harbor and Daphne’s Garden, which offers unique public art. 

312 RiverRun | Horner Park 

This trail is short trail is nestled between Gordon Tech High School and Lane Tech High School, creating a safe route to school that delivers scenic views of the city.  

North Shore Channel Trail | Evanston 

Extending 8.3 miles, this paved trail runs alongside the North Shore Channel, a drainage and aeration canal built in 1909.
