On the fourth Saturday of April, Celebrate Trails Day invites people outside to experience firsthand the joy and impact of the nation’s trails and connected trail networks—elevating those experiences to showcase the difference trails make for the entire country. Since 2013, our partners have been key to bringing the celebration to communities nationwide by planning events and programming that get people outside.
Now, more than ever, we want to send a message loud and clear that America’s trails and active transportation networks are essential infrastructure for the country. Join us in getting as many people as possible out on trails on Saturday, April 26, by partnering with us!
Sign up to become a Celebrate Trails Day partner and receive important updates, including reminders, resources and more.
Planning an Event? Get Your Event on the Map!
To connect people with ways to join the celebration, Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC) shares an interactive map that showcases the Celebrate Trails Day events planned around the country. This map is published approximately one month before the celebration, then is regularly updated with new events.
If you’re planning to host an event, please use our form to register your event to be added to the Celebrate Trails Day map.
Resources for Partners
To help inspire more people in more places to take part in this celebration, RTC is offering resources and promotional support to all of our participating partners.
Use Our Toolkit
The partner toolkit includes everything from shareable graphics to customizable templates and useful tips, to help you promote and prepare for your celebrations. Â As we get closer to the celebration, we will continue to add more resources to the toolkit, so stay tuned for updates!
Event Supplies
To support our partners’ celebrations, RTC was able to make available a limited quantity of free event supplies: materials from RTC and non-alcoholic beverages donated to RTC by Athletic Brewing Company. To allow for enough time to process requests and help ensure delivery in advance of Celebrate Trails Day, requests were accepted between Feb. 6 and Feb. 26.
If your organization successfully submitted a request for event supplies, our team sent a follow-up email with more information in early March. If you have any questions, please contact our team.

Please note that by using any of these materials or resources, you are agreeing to the following: Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC) has created an umbrella campaign for the purpose of uniting and promoting a national Celebrate Trails Day. Celebrate Trails Day is comprised of individual events that are hosted and managed by independent third parties. Use of the banner or the Celebrate Trails Day logo does not create any relationship between the organizer and Rails to Trails Conservancy. Each organizer, host, sponsor, promoter is responsible for their own event including all logistics, life safety considerations and insurance coverage. RTC has provided a sample liability waiver third parties may customize for their particular event.
